All you need is (not) love.

I recently discovered that love is not the most important emotion that you can feel about someone.  Sure, it may feel like that with everyone and everything telling you what love is and how you should feel and who you should love.

 But love sucks.

Love is complicated.  It comes with rules and regulations and false hopes and expectations.  We are told how we are supposed to treat the one we love.  We are told that love is forever.  We are told that love is amazing and worth it.

But love sucks.

Love doesn't last forever.  It is a fleeting and fickle emotion that doesn't know what it wants or what it wants to be.

I learned that you should be in a relationship with someone you like, rather than in a relationship with someone you love.  If you like someone, you are more willing to work through problems together, because you like them as a person.  But love is weird.  You don't try to work through problems, you try to force the other person to agree with whatever you say, under the pretense of love.  "If you loved me, you'd agree with me"

Because love sucks.
